Back to Work

I can't believe it's already been 2 months since my baby girl was born! We had her 2 month checkup at the doctor the other day - all is well - and she is almost 11 lbs already!! And she got her first shots :( I think I cried more then her. But she made it through with no side effects.
So, 2 months means back to work for me, which is bittersweet. Of course I don't want to leave my baby girl, I mean just look at that face! But it is good for me to get out of the house, besides its only part time and daddy is watching her!! Just makes me appreciate her even more!

New (Early) Arrival

So this past Tuesday we got a little surprise - I went into labor 3 weeks early!!! After a long day we welcomed our new baby girl, Aurora Faye, into the world! She is beautiful, healthy and the best surprise we have ever gotten.
We are all home and adjusting to our new life. I will of course be a little busy to post regularly but will try to catch up with everyone soon!

Babies don't need sneakers!!!

So I was out shopping the other day and of course wandered into the baby section. I'm about 7 weeks away from having my first child so those little baby clothes and toys are totally irresistible!! And then I came across these little sneakers, I mean, come on plaid converse without laces, how cool are they! So I rummaged through all the sizes and colors until I found the ones I liked (since we don't know the gender I settled on the yellow, brown and navy plaid ones) and as I'm walking up to the register a funny thought popped into my head - babies don't need sneakers!!! How ridiculous it is that you feel like you HAVE to buy these things for your child and how the stores make you feel like you NEED it so.

But I just laughed to myself and kept on going to the register.

This is, after all, my first child and they are just so cool!!
